We are aware of a situation in Westchester County where voting machines are down throughout the county. Poll workers are correctly allowing voters to fill out a paper emergency ballot, which is placed in a secure bag. Your vote will count.
The NAACP New York State Conference, working alongside our Election Day Election Protection Coalition partners, will continue monitoring this situation through the ballot-counting process to ensure that voters' ballots are properly accounted for.
We urge all voters to cast their ballots and not allow these disruptions to discourage them from exercising their right to vote.
If a voter has any questions or concerns, call the 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683) hotline. Lawyers are ready to assist you in multiple languages.
